OH HOW HE LOVES YOU AND ME Oh how He loves you and me. Oh how He loves you and me. He gave His life. What more could He give. Oh how He loves you and me.
Jesus to Calvary did go His love for mankind to show. What He did there brought hope from despair. Oh how He loves you. Oh how He loves me. Oh how He loves you and me.
MORE PRECIOUS THAN SILVER Lord you are more precious than silver. Lord you are more costly than gold. Lord you are more beautiful than diamonds. And nothing Idesire compares with you.
We bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord. We bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord. And we offer up to you the sacrifices of thansgiving. And we offer up to you the sacrifices of joy.
Some churches use hymns, some churches use choruses for their music but here at Halsted Road we use both, the beautiful and meaningful hymns of the traditional church and the equally beautiful and meaningful worship choruses in our worship music backed by our choir. Special music is provided by those in our church who love to sing and serve the Lord through music. They bring us a variety of music from traditional solos to contempory and updated selections all for the glory of the Lord.
The Lord has blessed us with musicians who sing and play instruments for his Glory. We appreciate our pianist who plays for us as well as our choir members and those who bring us special music. Lynn Watson is our choir directer who does a great job in planning and leading our music. We are in need of a pianist. Margaret Logan has been filling in and this is greatly appreciated . Karen Stubblefield plays for us for revivals and special programs.
This year we have been blessed with power point. Our hymns are projected onto a screen behind the pulpit for all to view as well as announcements and Bible verses etc.
Recently our choir director shared some principles for choir members. Following are some notes of what he presented from one of the choir members.
Reasons Why I Sing in the Choir
1. I am not good. He is good. 2. John 3:30. Being seen or recognized is not my goal. 3. God is a God of order not confusion. 1 Cor 14:40, Rom 12:11, 4. 1 John 3:23, John 13:1-17, Phil 1:9-11. Your music will not be what determines your success. Millions can present music depends on your love of God; servanthood. 5. Heb 10:24-25. Participation is no substites for tithing, Bible study or serving in other necessary functions of the church. 6. Your participation in this ministry makes you a minister. 1 Cor 15:33, EZ 33:6, Eph 6:12, 2 Cor 4:1-6, 1 Cor 1:23, 1 Thess 5:22. When lose sight of this you become a liability to the group. 7. I am not the star. It's not about me. Jesus Christ is our focus. We strive to glorify Him with our praise and service. 2 Cor 4:5, Coll.1:18. 8. God deserves our best. Everything He dose is perfect. Rehearse faithfully, dress modestly and appropriately. Gen4:-5, Matt 5:16. Let your light so shine that men see your good works and glorify your Father which is in Heaven. 9. Confess your faults. No lame excuses, follow through. James 5:16. Communicate when you have a problem. 10. Support your leaders, pastor, teachers, choir director. Be a good follower, constructive suggestions, courtesy of direct communication if desire changes, have an idea or alternative. 1 Tim2:1-3
